DRIVE Training is now ready to roll out. It is hoped to commence the roll out in community settings across the country soon.
There will be three strands to this training.
1. DRIVE ‘Train the Trainer ‘ programme. Training those who will deliver DRIVE Frontline Worker training and DRIVE Brief Advisor training across all Drug & Alcohol Task force areas. Details of the ‘Train the Trainer’ programme are shown here. If you are interested in undergoing this ‘Train the Trainer’ two-day programme, please contact your Regional or Local Drug and Alcohol Task Force Coordinator.
2. DRIVE Frontline Worker Training. A one-day training programme for workers in frontline services who support people experiencing Drug Related Intimidation and Violence.
3. DRIVE Brief Advisor Training. An awareness programme for people in community settings who may come into contact with individuals experiencing Drug Related Intimidation and Violence.
Congratulations to the first two cohorts of Trainers who completed the DRIVE Train the Trainer Programme in March 2025.

The new trainers will now begin the roll out of DRIVE Training in their task force areas – another step forward in helping to mitigate the impacts of Drug Related Intimidation on individuals, families and communities by raising awareness and enhancing the skills of frontline workers throughout Ireland.
