DRIVE Training

DRIVE Training

The key objectives of the DRIVE project is to build the capacity of communities around Ireland to support victims of drug related intimidation and violence.  We are building the capacity of services so that they in turn can support those impacted of drug related intimidation.  We do by providing DRIVE specific training and capacity building to services, developing resources and signposting those impacted by DRI to local specialist support services in their local area.

Detail of DRIVE Training

DRIVE Train the Trainer programme.  Training those who will then deliver DRIVE Frontline Worker training and DRIVE Brief Advisor training to relevant services across all Drug & Alcohol Task force areas.

DRIVE Frontline Worker Training.  A one-day training programme for those working in frontline Drug & Alcohol services, to include family support services and who support people experiencing Drug Related Intimidation and Violence, through key/working care planning etc.

DRIVE Brief Advisor Training.  A half-day training programme for people in community settings who may come into contact with individuals experiencing Drug Related Intimidation and Violence who may have an opportunity to provide information and signpost to relevant services.

Congratulations to the all those who recently completed the DRIVE Train the Trainer Programme.

The new trainers will now begin the roll out of DRIVE Training in their task force areas – another step forward in helping to mitigate the impacts of Drug Related Intimidation on individuals, families and communities by raising awareness and enhancing the skills of frontline workers throughout Ireland.
